Applications open July 31 — apply early to secure your spot in this highly competitive program.

The AGA-AASLD Academic Skills Workshop is a premier, mentorship-driven experience for U.S.-based fellows and early career gastroenterologists.

Designed for those pursuing — or considering — a career in academic medicine, this program supports participants at every stage of the decision-making process. This is your opportunity to gain guidance, build connections, and confidently take the next step in your career.

Apply by Sept. 28, 2026, to be considered for the next cohort! To apply, log in with your existing AGA account. If you don't have one, create a free account first, then complete the application.

Eligibility

  • Membership in AGA or AASLD is required.
  • You must be a second or third-year fellow, or junior faculty member (defined as within four years of starting your first faculty appointment). First year fellows are not eligible to apply.
  • If you’ve applied before but were not selected — and still meet the eligibility criteria — you’re invited to reapply and be considered again. Previous attendees are not permitted to reapply.
  • If accepted, you are expected to attend the workshop March 5–7, 2027, in Chicago, Illinois. Accommodations will be covered, and participants are responsible for arranging and covering their own travel expenses.
  • Applicants will be notified of acceptance on Nov. 18, 2026.
