Standards for Training Programs
- ACGME Common Program Requirements
ACGME shares the standards for training residents and fellows, including for one-year fellowships and post-doctoral education programs. These requirements facilitate an environment where residents and fellows can interact with patients under the guidance and supervision of qualified faculty members who give value, context, and meaning to those interactions. - National Resident Matching Program Code of Conduct
The NRMP and the Council of Medical Specialty Societies Organization of Program Director Associations have partnered to create this Match Communication Code of Conduct, which serves as a guide for all residency program staff involved in the interviewing and matching processes. - AGA Program Directors Listserv

Curricula Resources
- The Gastroenterology Core Curriculum Third Edition
Developed by the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association Institute, and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the comprehensive document represents the societies vision of best practices in gastroenterology training. Its 17 chapters encompass the breadth of knowledge and skills required for the practice of gastroenterology and links all areas to the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Outcome Projects General Competencies. - GI Program Directors Caucus Nutrition Education Module
This web-based module is designed to be accomplished over 10 work days and is broken down into subsections with links to peer reviewed articles by nutrition experts, supplemented with instructional videos led by national experts from the AGA Nutrition Toolkit series. Assignments provide a framework for competency in the following areas: basic nutritional principles, assessment, malnutrition and stress states, support, nutrition associated with specific clinical conditions, obesity and special diets.
