ASPEN’s Malnutrition Awareness Week 2023 (September 18-22) serves to educate healthcare professionals on the important topic of malnutrition. Patients with gastrointestinal (GI) diseases have a high prevalence of malnutrition and other nutrition-related complications. On September 27th at noon, speakers delved into the significance of diagnosing, treating, and preventing malnutrition in GI patients.

- Understand the importance of nutrition risk screening in both inpatient and outpatient settings specific to patients with GI conditions
- Discuss the prevalence of malnutrition in patients with GI conditions and its impact on patient outcomes
