The Women’s Executive Leadership Conference (WExLC) is designed for women in positions of influence across gastroenterology and hepatology to advance and sustain them as they lead teams, organizations, systems, and practices. The purpose of the WExLC is to help maximize the role of women by strengthening their skills and knowledge of value-driven leadership while expanding their networks with like-minded women of influence in a manner that leads to systemic change and advances gender equity in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology.

Eligibility
The conference is designed for 50 women clinicians, researchers, and scientists who are experienced in their careers and in positions of influence in academia and private practice.
Women’s Executive Leadership Conference candidate criteria:
- Current AGA member in North America
- Physician, surgeon, or scientist with an MD, PhD, DVM, or equivalent, beyond seven years of graduation from their GI fellowship.
- Stated commitment to personal and institutional leadership development and advancement of women and those from underrepresented backgrounds.
Professional titles include, but are not limited to:
Academic:
- Associate or full professor
- Division Chiefs within the first two years of their appointment
- Fellowship program directors
- Medical Directors
- Assistant Deans
Private Practice:
