Join us for one of six Women in GI Regional Workshops — a unique opportunity to advance gender equity, develop leadership skills, and build meaningful mentorship connections across all career stages. These regionally focused events, along with one virtual event, empower women in GI through practical skill-building, candid conversations, and community support. Together, we’ll break down barriers to representation and create pathways for inclusion, connection, and growth.
Course directors bring perspectivess from across the care team, representing a diverse range of voices and experiences. Their insights come from key leadership groups including the women’s Committee, AGA NPPA Task Force, young gastroenterologists/early career committee, the FORWARD Program, and the AGA Future Leaders initiative.

Maria A. Leo-Lieber Scholarship Award
Travel grants available
The Maria A. Leo-Lieber Scholarship Award was created to support women in academic research with leadership training and networking opportunities for career advancement in gastroenterology and hepatology. The gift is designated in honor of Dr. Maria A. Leo-Lieber, which will be used to create a scholarship to support participation in AGA leadership development training for women physicians and scientists. In 2025, the scholarship will support women physicians and scientists from an academic research background with $300 each to apply towards their registration and/or travel to the regional women in GI workshops. The travel grant is to support travel and registration fees for trainees and early career women. A review panel which includes Dr. Sarah Lieber, daughter of the named donor will review and select one scholarship award recipient per region.
Qualified applicants can apply for a travel scholarship using the application link included in their workshop registration confirmation email.
