Overview
In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, this webinar was presented by Latinos in Gastroenterology and Hepatology (La LiGaH). Launch this course for an overview of La LiGaH and examine current health disparities and health equity concerns in GI and hepatology for the Latino community. You’ll also hear the panel of experts share guidance for trainees and junior faculty interested in GI and hepatology careers who identify as Latino/Hispanic or who serve the Latino community.
La LiGaH is a recently established AGA Member Network with a mission to promote health equity within Hispanic/Latino communities. Its objectives include advancing scientific research and supporting the professional development of Hispanic/Latino gastroenterologists, hepatologists, scientists, and all individuals committed to meeting the GI and hepatology needs of the Hispanic/Latino population.
Learning objectives
- Provide an overview of the mission of La LiGaH and opportunities to participate.
- Outline current health disparities and health equity concerns in GI and hepatology for the Latino community.
- Provide perspective and advice to trainees and junior faculty interested in a career in GI or hepatology who self-identify as Latino/Hispanic or provide care for the Latino community.
