Course Title:  Advances in the Diagnosis and Management of GERD and Barrett's Esophagus

Overview

This educational program is focused on updating clinicians on the latest advancements in the diagnosis and treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and Barrett's esophagus (BE). It highlights the major takeaways from the 2021 AGA GERD & BE Consensus Conferences and addresses the knowledge gaps and provides practical information to improve patient management.

The program is divided into two parts, part I covers GERD and part II covers Innovation in BE.

Learning objectives

  1. To understand the current disease burden and treatment paradigm for GERD
  2. To evaluate the current role of available esophageal physiology diagnostic tools and future directions
  3. To understand current gaps in therapy for GERD and potential novel treatments.
  4. To evaluate current limitations in Barrett's diagnostics and evaluation of novel innovation for diagnosis and dysplasia detection
  5. To discuss current strategies for risk stratification in Barrett's
  6. To evaluate the impact, outcomes, and limitations of endoscopic eradication therapy for Barrett's neoplasia
