Overview
This webinar explores the role of artificial intelligence (AI) and computer vision for diseases in the foregut. It also serves as a brief primer for gastroenterologists who are new to AI, with a discussion on how AI will impact the clinical practice of GI in the future.
Following the initial discussion, enjoy a pre-recorded presentation sponsored by Castle Biosciences. This discussion will focus on managing Barrett's esophagus, which involves a multi-step process from screening and surveillance to eradication treatment. A key challenge is determining which patients should be surveilled and at what intervals and identifying those who require more aggressive eradication strategies. Currently, management relies on histological diagnosis and specific clinical factors; however, there has been little improvement in the incidence and mortality rates of esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC) over the past few decades, highlighting the need for better risk stratification. The presentation will explore the TissueCypher assay, an AI-driven prognostic tool for Barrett's patients diagnosed with NDBE, IND, or LGD. This assay provides a personalized, independent 5-year risk assessment for progression to high-grade dysplasia (HGD) or EAC.
During this presentation, get details about:
- The limitations in current Barrett’s esophagus risk stratification
- The components of an AI-derived spatialomics prognostic assay for Barrett’s Esophagus (TissueCypher)
- The clinical validity and impact of clinical decision-making of TissueCypher on personalized risk stratification
